In the shop in Balnakeil Craft Village we mostly sell to visitors who are not local to the area. We usually end up talking about where they are taking the pot, how they're going to use it and where it's going in the house! I even get people who come back to the shop and tell me where they have things they have previously bought in their home. I love the idea that an something I've made here, in the Highlands, can end up somewhere so far away. It's even interesting to here about new homes not so far away too, just because my work can look so different in a new surrounding.
We've set up a map in the shop to show where in the world my work is going. We're asking visitors to place a pin in the map wherever they are taking it. For online purchases we will also place a pin to show where my work has travelled to.
We'd love to see photographs of what you have bought in its new home! To get involved simply upload an image to Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest with #migrationmudness. Don't forget to tell us where in the world you are. If you prefer you can also e-mail an image to firstname.lastname@example.org. As well as sharing these images on the Mudness social media pages, we will also show them all on the #migrationmudness page on the website.
When uploading an image to social media you can also tag my account to make sure I see it! On Twitter and Instagram please tag @mudness_ and on Facebook tag my page @mudness.
